help solve the Parker/Wells family mystery!!

can you identify these people? this ia a big family mystery to us. All that we know is that it was given to my grandfather john wilson parker and on the back is written:

to wilson parker these are your great great grandparents mr and mrs wells

who are they? where are they from? how are they related to him?
any leads are welcome. I think it was taken during civil war time going by my research into old photos. I would say they were born very early 1800's.

when you just want to give up

I think we have all been at that point where we want to give up our research. I have been at that point for months. I decided to not do it all by myself so I can relieve some stress.
tips: Call around to historical societies, libraries, etc. Get the hard proof! Do get a paid site on ancestry you will thank me later. Start with what you know and pay attention to key words from others. Even if it doesn't seem right at the time, it might end up being what you need later on down the road. Read all the postings for clues.
